Leonard C. Green, the President and Founder of The Green Group, has had a long and distinguished career as an entrepreneur, nationally recognized tax expert and family business consultant. A tax expert, Len prides himself on being a trusted business advisor to highly successful people who need more than just a "bean counter".
Len received his MBA from Harvard Business School's Owner and President Management Program. He received his Masters Degree in Taxation (Honors) from New York University and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University (Accounting).
He is an owner or investor in many diverse businesses including a commercial real estate management corporation, a thoroughbred horse breeding and racing operation, a professional sports team, and even a pet food company.
Len is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business at Babson College. He is a winner of the Appel Award for outstanding contributors to the entrepreneurial spirit in academia, and is listed in "Who's Who in U.S. College Professors".
His expertise in areas of accounting & tax, family business, succession planning, and his teaching methods have appeared in over 200 newspapers across the country including: the New York Post, Wall Street Journal and Star Ledger. He has contributed articles to The Thoroughbred Times, Real Estate Times, Babson Entrepreneurial Review, Babson Alumni Magazine, Practicing Law Institute "Estates and Trusts" manual, The Practical Accountant, The Journal of Taxation and many others.
Most recently Len was featured in January 2006 INC Magazine article on How To Properly Value A Business. Len also was a featured speaker in the Newark Star Ledger "Financial Service All Day Seminar".
He is on the advisory board of over a dozen family-owned businesses and consults to over 1,000 clients. He is on the board of directors of three non-profits and is a member of the Board of Directors of NYSE-listed Cenveo, Inc.
Len has been married for over 45 years, is the proud father of three children and grandfather of five.
