For nearly five decades, D.J. Stable has stood among the elite in Thoroughbred racing and breeding. Founded by Lois and Len Green, the family-run operation has earned two Sovereign Awards, two Eclipse Awards, 14 Leading Owner Titles, over 150 stakes-race victories and more than 2,600 career wins. They've bred 25 Grade I performers and sold in excess of US $100 million in horses at public auction.
In 2025, D.J. Stable celebrated their seventh consecutive appearance at the Breeders’ Cup, fielding the home-bred filly Nitrogen — a Grade I winner with earnings north of two million.
Family Legacy
In January 2023, D.J. Stable accepted their second Eclipse Award for the outstanding Two-Year-Old Filly of 2022, Wonder Wheel — named by matriarch, Lois Green. Her passing that year marked a poignant moment, as this was her final major chapter in the sport she loved.
Today, the operation continues in the hands of son, Jonathan Green, host of the popular racing podcast Rail Talk. Together the family honors tradition while looking ahead.
